Just shows The Beatles had good taste.
This is a cover of The Beatles
@@TheAstroZombi Doh! I should have known better. It even says so on the label!. I just assumed that because I knew he was an old bluesman this was from before 1968.
Vinyl records have something magical that streaming platforms like Spotify doesn't have. Records remember you experiences of your life. I am from a town in Cádiz, Spain. I went in my car to Málaga to see my friend Antonio. He was my buddy at the university. When I arrived to Málaga we walked the streets and we went to a record shop. I bought this vinyl. Amazing record! Everytime I see this record in my showcase I remember that day and I remember my friend Antonio. I miss him so much. We didn't talk so much since then. He doesn't seem very interested in me anyway. I guess it's a distance thing...

In very loving memory of Mr. Donald Lewis Johnson (1925 - 2001 R.I.P. Gone but NOT forgotten).
Benny solo reminds me of Michael Brecker...interesting
Late 1969. An awesome song that mainstream radio sadly put out to pasture later on and was forgotten until I heard on a small radio station in Ohio and found a 45. This woman was so blessed having her musical abilities and had her first top 10 when she was 17 (1961's "Every Beat Of My Heart")
0:53 is when the tune starts
To Oz what the Flamin' Groovies were to the US or what Dr. Feelgood was to Britain
Volume 3 of this monumental set was my favorite (though oddly enough it's considered the weakest of the three). With that being said, as much work that was put into all 3 volumes I can only grade them a B+. Why? B/c Stax only released the A-sides on the set, and not the B-sides! What the what?! Those B-sides are ultra rare in too many cases, and sometimes they sounded even better than the A-sides!
Just got this beaut on vinyl from Berlin to Ireland.., saw it on cd years ago .. I think . But vinyl sounds great . Blasting this now ! Grant forever . This track is a killer
I used to own a copy of this 45. I sold it to a record store a few years ago. I wonder if it has any real value today.
Many of Lowell's records do have a value for many blues collectors nowadays. Goldmine magazine currently prices this single as $5-8 dollars today in near mint condition. Back in 1969, the 45 cost only 69 cents in any department store. Notice that Lowell added more lyrics for this cover version over The Beatles one-verse version repeated three times on the "White Album." I wonder if Paul McCartney added those extra lyrics for Lowell's version.
This is a message that the world desperately needs today. Thank you Norman Whitfield. You were a man WAY ahead of your time.😎👍
Yes a very socially conscious songwriter/producer (also such as "Smiling Faces Sometimes", man I love that one)
My Mother always said the was the B Side to I Wanna Testify. George Clinton cut my Fathers hair in the 60’s in Plainfield, NJ. They used to sing in the Barbershop.
Your mum was correct

George later remade it with the Brides of Funkenstein. Covered by Yo La Tengo. So, I put all 3 in my YLT playlist. Thanks for the upload!
No joke. If you play the first 15 seconds backwards you hear "Automatic research will now commence on another planet." (X3)
I've heard it's "Automatic destruction will commence on the mother planet"
